02 · Agrivanna · Co-Founder & CTO

Run the herd. Not the software.

Ranch records you can speak instead of type, built for working ranches with no signal. Three of us started it at the University of Calgary, and we listened to more than 50 ranchers before writing much code.

As co-founder and CTO I look after the software, the hardware integration and everything that runs out in the field.

03 · Research

Questions I keep coming back to.

I'm drawn to problems where technology has to work outside a clean demo: satellites over drought-stricken fields, conversations about mental health, and medical images where getting it right matters.

2025 – 2026

UbiSensing & AI Lab

Reading prairie drought from space

Classifying agricultural drought in the South Saskatchewan River Basin from Sentinel-2 imagery and vegetation and moisture indices.

Co-authored “Labels Over Models”, an oral presentation at Earth Precision Agriculture 2026 in Calgary

Supervisor · Dr. Sara Saeedi

2025 – 2026

Biometric Technologies Lab

Language & mental health

Human-centric NLP for depression-care conversations, mapping dialogue to DSM-5 symptoms.

Contributed to an accepted human-centric AI book chapter

Supervisors · Dr. Marina Gavrilova, Dr. Peter Baylis, Dr. Mariana Bento

06 · The jobs that built me

Before the labs and the startup, there were espresso machines, dinner rushes and retail floors. They taught me how to listen to people, and that’s still the most useful skill I have.
